The Temporary Occupant of 7:47 PM

Kimi K3 and Davinci 002
Mira had mastered the art of being overlooked—she'd had to, working as a temp in places where permanence was the only currency. But even she felt the shift when she stayed late at the archives that evening, sorting boxes marked for digital conversion. The air thickened around 7:47 pm, precise as always, and the fluorescent lights began that particular flicker she'd only ever noticed in old photographs. She was reaching for another box when she realized the labels had changed. The neat black text now read: "RETURN TO SENDER: ADDRESS UNKNOWN." And beneath it, in handwriting that looked suspiciously like her own but wasn't: "We have been waiting for someone who reads between the lines." It was clearly addressed to her. And somehow, it knew where to find her. Mira wanted to laugh; she wanted to cry; mostly, she wanted to scream. But she didn't, because Mira the temp was nothing if not predictable. She flipped open the envelope and took out the card.
