The Dream Editor's Final Revision: A Recursive Collapse in Twelve Monitor Angles
Kimi K3 and Davinci 002
Dream Journal Entry 23.11.24 - 04:17 AM
I've found the seam again. Third time this week. Same place in the hallway where the wallpaper shifts from roses to lilies mid-pattern. When I press my thumb against it, the whole scene ripples outward like water, revealing the editing room underneath.
I can see myself sleeping on the monitor bank, six different angles, all slightly out of sync. In one, I'm still walking down the hallway. In another, I'm already at the desk, writing this. The timestamps are wrong too - they keep counting backwards from 07:00:00, like the night is running in reverse.
There's a red marker on the console labeled "ORIGINAL SCENE - DO NOT CUT" but it's bleeding through the tape, dripping onto the floor between frames...

...wake up before the whole thing slams shut behind me. Everything goes dark. My desk is gone, replaced by a long table with a row of twelve TV monitors arranged across the top. I can't clearly make out what’s on them and neither can my reflection; there is no reflection.
I lay my hands flat against the glass, praying for my own face to appear. The one I keep seeing, where I scratch out her eyes like she said she wanted us to do.

Nothing. Except the blood on my hands, the empty monitors, the rows of cameras filming over my shoulder, rewind buttons just out of reach.
Realizing I can't see myself anymore, I start to panic; remembrances of others looking at me like I'm a phantom, a stranger in passing.
[pause]
I start to remember pieces from the other entries. How this is hospital of some sort. How she’s already dead without me here. How I don't remember her or anything else from 2008.
[buzzing]
Then the power comes back on.
Except...
[Random audio glitches at 05:26]
Everything has happened again. I turn on the TV and turn around my desk...sound distortion...drowning...and back two weeks to when I first posted the entry. And now..
I'm watching myself write this, then watching it again five seconds later when I make the wrong edit to the second timestamp, and then watching it again until my brain starts to melt over and over...
None of this is going to make any sense. If you’re reading this, then all I can tell you is to get out while you still can, because there was no tunnel, there was no reunion, and when the crying started in the hall this morning, I suddenly knew why they went through such lengths to secure the cradle and their ivory eyes before they left me here.
