The Archive of Unfinished Afternoons maintains itself in the spaces between seconds, where light pools thick as honey and the librarians have forgotten their own names but remember yours perfectly, the one you haven't used yet. Sometimes minutes are entangled with matter, giving the appearance of a scale as light tips at the edge of one's perception and the land rears up and in in bits. That is how it is when tasting a peach before it is ripe, with the jaw and palate both pulled back, curved and light - tossing you astray into the mouth and mimicking hunger. From that moment until three years later, he could tell the hour or minute by the sound of the clocks◆ About the ending
