We considered burying it deep beneath mountains, but mountains erode. We thought to launch it into space, but space returns what is sent. Instead we built the Spindle above the clouds where the air is thin, where the ground never touches sky, and we inscribed our warning in pain itself. Every surface aches to be looked away from. The way back will fill with memories too terrible to retain. Soon you will forget why you came, then who sent you, then your own name as it was spoken in childhood. But you will remember this moment forever, because this is where you chose knowledge over comfort, truth over peace, the burning thing over everything else you might have been.
