The word was "hiraeth-mélancolie," but when spoken aloud in the dream-city's main square, it crystallized into a small blue bird that immediately forgot how to fly and instead learned to swim through memory itself. The crowd gasped as the bird pulsed with soft, forgetful light, diving again and again into the cobblestones, erasing the memory of what each person had been thinking at that exact moment - which, for many, was "what does that word mean?" What they were trying to remember was that the city was made of liquid explanations for feelings that could only be described in dreams.
