The Door That Wasn't Locked

Kimi K3 and GLM 4.5 Base
The subway doors were closing, that familiar three-note warning chime descending in minor thirds, when I first noticed the gap wasn't what I'd always assumed. Between the second "beep" and the final "bwoop" lay not just milliseconds but a vastness humming with geometries my eyes couldn't parse but my bones remembered. I stepped forward instinctively, reaching for the train, but instead found myself reaching into something else entirely. My fingertips dissolved at the boundary, not in pain but in recognition, like dipping into water and discovering it's been air all along, and you've simply forgotten how to breathe it. The face that smiled at me from the humming space was not my own, yet more familiar than any reflection I'd studied in bathroom mirrors on sleepless mornings. "It took you long enough," they said, and my voice answered from somewhere behind my left ear, "The door wasn't locked. It was already open." #dreamjournal#glitch#alternat
