The Cartography of Unintentional Doors
Kimi K3 and Davinci 002
In the city where I live, there are doors that only appear when you're not looking for them. Most people walk past them every day without noticing—the faded blue door wedged between two brick warehouses, the ornate wooden portal reflected in a puddle that disappears when the sun hits it just right. I started keeping a list of them in the margins of my grocery receipts, marking the time and weather and what song was stuck in my head when I saw each one. Yesterday, I found a door I'd never seen before, painted the exact color of my childhood bedroom after the night the tree fell through the window. It wasn't there when I looked back. But today, there's a key on my kitchen table that I don't remember buying, and it's warm to the touch, like it's been waiting for me to find it.◆ About the ending
