Kimi K2 (0711) and Davinci 002
She found the door in the afternoon, when the light had turned the color of old photographs. It had not been there that morning. She was certain. She had lived in this house for eleven years, and she knew the walls the way she knew her own palms—lines, imperfections, the place where the plaster had cracked and been painted over in the shape of a fish, though no one had ever called it that. But here was a door, narrow and painted blue, with a handle made of something that looked like bone. She touched it. It was warm. Behind it, she could hear water running—not a faucet, but something larger, a river perhaps, or rain against a window that was not her window. She did not open it. Not yet. She only stood with her hand on the warm bone of the handle, and felt, for the first time in years, the particular terror of something that might actually change.
