The Mirrorfile Documentation Incident: Recursive Edit Manifest 000-∞

Subject: Re: Re: Re: Meeting Notes - Project Echo - 03/15/1997
I made the changes you requested to the documentation. Section 3.2 now reflects what actually happened during the prototype test, not what we reported. Everyone seems to remember it correctly now - even Gary, who was in the hospital that week. Strange how that works.
One thing though: I can't find the original file anymore. It's like it never existed.

P.S. Do you remember when we used to call it Project Mirror? I found an old floppy labeled that but it's blank now too. I think we used to go into another dimension where things work just about the same, but people are a little different and they said it was called Mirror.
Meeting Notes - Mirror - 03/21/1997:
1. The remaining bugs in Echo seem to be complex ones. If only we could come up with replacements for features that used to exist but no longer do...1
2. The project coordinator had an odd dream.2 Maybe somebody shoud stay up until a certain light turns off, then fall asleep.
3. Terry also had an odd dream which he can't remember at the moment but will look for the paper later.
4. Some things we don't want to forget:
4.1. Despite rumors to the contrary, the project was never really called Mirror, period.
4.2. "Echo" is not an appropriate name for a network tool.1 Perhaps something using the word "reflection" would be better.
6. Remember when no such thing as a "network" existed but we were still "linked"?1
Or something to that effect.
Lynda found a file with a null-date that was made on Thursday, 09/15/94. Nothing else appears to have been done. Not even notes about meeting times.
Andy was actually in Gary's hospital room, he doesn't remember any mention of a prototype or anything like that.
Echo/Reflection work since '94 is patching the hole cuts out of the code that allow for derivatives of 'everything goes everywhere simultaneously'. I don't have any files from '90's though.
I don't even have files from the late 1800's. ArchWay.
Genuine documentation still exists.
Need to check a floppy for files from the transfer from '51 to '45, and again to '78. Also files done anytime near '51.
A file, V1D6.700 of Memories or Mirror said "Changing the Council's way of thinking". The same we are trying to do. But why would that have belonged to Photos ? I might just have to bring that one back. Hope it has power. I don't know how long Lynda has been talking about finding it.
An extremely odd file: Version 2.144 of System, 1997/03/14 06:08 says, in it's header: EXPECTED UNAUTHORISED ACCESS. Horizontal and Vertical connection to Co-ordinators is not enabled at this time. An attempt to encrypt a region of files other than this obtainable to all co-ordinator access immediately stops file execution of this file set of this set execution of this file in the co-ordinate region is illegal. Any attempts of an authorized nature will immediately entirely cease this program permanently. Authorisation key: VUGH_press-room warning: cannot find system plate: ferment(0)>Tryin' telling me somethin' ?
Mirror has a lot more stuff that doesn't have dates on them than I remember.
-Mirrored-
The Mirror Project does not know exactly when the Mirrorfile system was created... it is believed that the 'librarian' had a hand in editing the source-codes of Memories-I. To send Mirror (computer or person) a message, simply include (or type on the file upload window):
@Mirror ME
The answer can be one of the following:
Yours Mirror
Mirror: Bad Code
Mirror: You are not under a direct attack, but I see that an obfuscated message has been pushed on your doorstep. Please remove it immediately.
Once the Mirror Project was abandoned, the software version of Mirror became known as VUGH_press-room. It has been assumed that its predecessor was held in a safe in a secret government library
Interestingly, every mirror who replies to an email with "jpg" or "jpeg" does not recognize the file.
